Laser tag and "going to the store"

Work today was largely uneventful, it was busy and the one thing that stuck out was that I met a fellow BYU alumni! Well technically, I could be called alumni since I attended BYU-Hawaii but whatever. He was wearing a blue Y polo shirt and I was like "hey! You went to Provo! You must be LDS!" and we started chatting a bit and commented on the lack of Mormons working at Google. He lives in Santa Cruz but there's a shuttle from his house to Google campus -____- so awesome. I almost wish I had a full time career at Google. He can sleep for an hour for his "commute" to work and play ping pong and go work out on the company dime. I get to use most of the facilities so I can't complain too much about it.

After work I was supposed to meet up with two of my friends but they both bailed on me and one of them didn't even pick up his phone. One decided to call me back during my nap and I was too tired to even hear my phone go off so I kept sleeping.

Had pho for dinner in Milpitas at a really good and cheap pho place because we planned to go mini golfing afterwards. We were supposed to meet up with 4 other people but they decided to not eat with us but I had a great dinner so I wasn't complaining at all.

We finally arrived at Milpitas Golfland and right after we bought our games and received our clubs, it started to rain really hard. Mansur decided to not sign for his credit card before stepping away so I made an executive decision and signed the receipt for him. LOL but we hadn't even left the counter when it started raining so we asked for and got a refund. We didn't wanna stay at the arcade for any games so we(Justin, Perica, Alex, Manny and Maine) decided we wanted to try laser tag!

The new laser tag place was finally open after 4 months of them announcing their opening and it was kind of ghetto. The suits were like...lifejackets with reflectors on them and we were shooting barcode scanners at each other. The game itself was actually pretty fun, except for the fact that there were some silly sniper spots that you couldn't sneak up on and there was too many walls. The mountain view Q zar has a better layout and doesn't feel as cramped with grills and windows to shoot through.

Frozen yogurt time!! So Frais was kind of junky. I liked tutti frutti better but it had a couch and lots of open space. They closed at 11 and we all ended up "loitering" outside and just talking.

Justin busted out with a frisbee and finally ended up THROWING the disc into Maine's car so we stopped with that and started to play with some light up bouncy ball. Erica was really into it and was like squealing chasing after it and just throwing at people's nether regions. Pete tried to throw it at me but my hand was by my pocket and I didn't even move my hand yet still caught the ball. I just shook my head at him while standing there and everyone was laughing. Mansur told me to "go to the store" but I was confused at first what he was talking about, but then I started wiggling around and waving my arms in the air and freaking everyone out because they didn't know what was going on. HAHAHA YouTube the video though; I started twitching on the ground and manny finally found the video online and made everyone watch it because I was laughing too hard to respond. So much fun!! And now I'm doing laundry. Good night.

Oh ya, btw I made Charmaine and Alex get in a shopping card at FoodMax and we took a picture. Kekekeke

September 6, 2011

So i'm definitely NOT feeling better. yuck. i was out all day sunday and Charmaine had me wrapped up in like 4 blankets while wearing 2 jackets. felt so awful. I threw up 4x Sunday night but I felt a little better afterwards and actually ate some real food, since the last real meal I ate was Friday morning. I still had a headache monday morning and I tried to pack up some of my stuff for when I move but I couldn't really keep moving up and down since it just made my head hurt more.

I went to the FHE BBQ since it was Bishop Severson's first FHE as bishop so I wanted to support him but I couldn't stay too long. It was funny because Olivia came and everyone felt so awkward. Me and Charmaine played pool but there was a socially awkward male that decided to hover around the table and give us tips on which ball to shoot. He was making Maine miss all her shots and kept getting in the way when we were trying to circle around the table. =.= really guy? then this female counterpart showed up and was getting in the way of the both us again trying to see what we were doing too. zomg, so I finished the game and won with a cross shot 8 ball into the opposite side of the table and we went to go get some food. the awkward couple probably made us feel annoyed/awkward on purpose so that they could use the pool table. ended up having to go home early cuz my head was killing me. ughhh....

good life

life is pretty good, I ought to update my blog more but I always put it off and now it's been a month =.= fail on my part. well, i started working AT google even though I don't work FOR google. lol i work for bon appetit, the subsidiary company that does their food stuff. And I'm a dishwasher. It's not a bad job at all, it keeps me really busy walking around and doing stuff the whole day. the only thing is that I really need to remember is to drink water more often so I don't get dehydrated. well, yesterday I got the stomach flu or something because I got really woozy and dizzy at work. My arms felt super heavy and I felt really lethargic. I finally told my boss that I thought I was dehydrated and he told me to go take a break and sit down outside, so I got some food but I wasn't even hungry. My friend that got me the job knew that I must have been really sick if I wasn't hungry and I was just holding my head. I finally ended up going home but I didn't even remember the drive back @_@

I'm feeling a little better today but good thing it's the long weekend. I'm finally HUNGRY though so I'm going to the buffet by myself. need that food. lol

van got fixed /yay

I finally went to San Francisco to get my van fixed. Back in march, on my friend's birthday, late at night as I was driving everyone home (cuz I was DD) some drunk idiot threw his taxi cab's door straight into ONCOMING TRAFFIC IE ME!! omg what an idiot. His excuse was "the cab driver told me to get out of the car so i got out". this moron thought that meant getting out onto the street. The cab's door got bent in half and hit the front side of my van right above the wheel denting it. I could still drive so I wasn't that worried about my car but the drunk dude was from out of town and being a fool. His girl friends were saying the same thing about getting out of the taxi and they were just listening to the cabbie, but Justin (the birthday boy) was talking to them about it and out of nowhere yelled "DON'T BE IGNORANT" and shut them up. My other friend, Tuan, was filming the whole thing on a little Flip thingie because the guy kept pulling his camera out and taking pictures right in our face. I got a picture of his driver's license but he wouldn't show me his insurance(Geico) but I thought I could at least file a claim. my insurance agent is such a bum, I doubt he even filed anything but I did what I was supposed to do. I even got the the cabbie's information and the cab driver's boss called me and offered to fix the dent because he had his own body shop.

I finally got around to driving up to the body shop since it's in San Francisco and the guy ordered the part and had me come back later, which was today to install the piece. Originally the body shop guy wanted me to leave the van over the weekend but I told him that that wasn't possible since I needed the van and it wasn't like I couldn't even drive the car. He took a piece of the paint off, which was already chipping, so that he could paint the van part so that it'd match the rest of the car. It was pretty funny how there was so much dirt IN the van and I never realized just how much screws and nuts and bolts were involved in just removing a panel from the van.

errands. so busy

wow, so today started SO EARLY FOR ME AT 11AM. lol i got a call to turn in my paperwork for this new temp agency because there was a mixup yesterday for my interview in Pleasanton. got lost a bit trying to find the building but wasn't too big of a deal to just do some paperwork.

Anyways, I went to some apartments that me and my baby had checked out earlier because I had time to talk to the building managers during their work hours and get information about a place to move after we get married. One of the apartments seemed really nice but no one had anything available, well, they can't see they have anything available until later so I'll have to call them again. I didn't get some brochures and made sure that the information they gave me was correct. I only was able to get in and see one apartment because one, the guy was on his way out and didn't have anything available anyways, the next one smelled old and looked old so i didn't bother even going inside. Plus the parking sucked so I wouldn't even want to invite anyone over there anyways.

THEN I went to get a printer from Best Buy, so I decided to go buy a DS charger cuz i needed one AND THEN I played the 3DS @_@ whoaaaa it was SWEET. Now I know what all the video game reviews were talking about when they said you had to experience it because it couldn't be captured on video or cameras and NOW I KNOW WHY. zomgggg it was so cool. I totally want a 3DS now but no, no need for it. LOL it was just amazinggggg. anyways then I got the best printer that money can buy, since it was the one that I bought.

blood drive

Donating dat blood. I was in the area at CSU-EB to try to take care of all my school stuff and I had an appointment to donate blood at 5pm but I didn't want to drive back to Fremont just to drive back out to Hayward. I just went to the chapel and tried to see if they had a long line and since it was like 3pm there was nobody there in line and I got to donate my blood in like...15 minutes. so fast~ @_@

I was just chilling on the bench they set up and watching my blood seep into the bag. so cool. i took some pics but you need to click so you can see them "after the jump"  lol

click "read more" and you'll see the pics! yay!

hot hot hot

wow, it is REALLY HOT. in other news, i'm unemployed again. ugh. the management didn't train me properly and complained when i did things wrong. uhhhhhhhhhh, try again doofuses! well, they're the
idiots because I actually ran their branch and made things GO SMOOTHLY cuz guess what, i'm the IT manager. so the router password and wifi password ARE MINE TO ACCESS. idiots. they've got it coming. on the other hand, i've been applying to Dreamworks and Pixar and Zynga. Hopefully I'll hear back soon from them and work for a big company, which would be AMAZING since yeah, i would actually include them on my resume.

in other news, which isn't news but I MISS HAWAII. I don't miss BYU-Hawaii at all, but I would like to move there after/when/if I actually can finish school. I'm waiting on Cal State Uni-East Bay to let me start school but they're still "reviewing" my application. I"m going to have to GO IN AGAIN and at least email the admissions director so I can have an answer and figure out my plans. UGH. I <3 the Bay Area but I need to get my surf/snorkel on! time for bed!

Mission Peak part 2

I haven't updated a lot in a long time because Charmaine and I have differing schedules so we haven't really been going out and doing much but we finally scheduled some time together so that we could hike mission peak. I invited some friends but they all had other things to do or didn't wake up yet. Even though I planned to start at 12:30 but we ended up starting at 1:15. We went up the Ohlone way which is actually longer but supposed to be "easier" because of the switchbacks. I personally didn't like it because it took like half an hour more than the more direct but "sloped" way. It took a long time but we did make it to the top!

MEMORIAL DAY MAHJONG WEEKEND

this memorial weekend i've played 10 hours of mahjong, just on saturday and sunday. Charmaine had a set that she brought from Singapore that was like a mini set and Justin and Mansur wanted to learn how to play again so we played.....for 6 hours. we stopped to go eat pho and the place was super asian and even had the drinks I've been looking for since Hong Kong!!! zomgggggggg

3 colored bean drink, it was like halo halo but no taro in it

this is my red bean drink. HELLA PLACES DON'T HAVE IT. the funny thing was that the beans were gigantic and I've never seen such huge red beans before

Anyways we were playing The Stupids, Kung Pow and we ended up watching the Green Hornet while we were playing Mahjong. Good laughs and good fun. Played again with my dad and mom tonight at my house

brand new set!

We didn't play that long but it was fun while we played. My dad was teaching me all the rules again and strategy. Made it pretty fun. My dad won twice, I won once and Charmaine won twice. The one game I won, I won pretty quickly so that was awesome. yay! anyways that's my weekend of 麻雀!!

new job

Wow I love my new job. It’s so chill and I’m actually busy and I’m given freedom to what I want so I don’t get all burned out doing my job and anything else. Last week I had to drive around the Bay area to Stanford and UC Berkeley to put up flyers because we need more teachers for the academy and I drove 118 miles @_@. It was cool though because I was just finding the proper places to put up the flyers BUT the only stressful part was cuz I had to pay for parking and I didn’t wanna get towed. At Stanford there was a dude in the parking lot so I was really scared that if I went over my meter that my van would get towed right away. It was actually hard at first to figure out where to go at Stanford since it’s like it’s own freaking city, it is so big that it’s retarded. I called Brittany though because her boyfriend? Goes to school there and he told me to go by the bookstore and I had to drive like 2 miles away just to get there. It didn’t end up being too difficult after I got there but it took me awhile to just get there. I also ended up going to the LDS institute and I talked to the institute director and he said he’d put up a couple flyers  too. Yay!
I ended up getting stuff in traffic on my way to Berkeley even though I tried to time my drive so I’d miss it but it wasn’t even that bad of a drive. Before I went out though, I decided to take a break and watch some of the Heat/Bulls game. Lol it was such a hot day that I needed to sit down and rest because I drank up all my water.  Anywho, when I got to Berkeley I had to wander around for 20 minutes before I even found the billboard things that I could post flyers up on. It didn’t take as long since I knew what I was doing this time but wow. The driving all day was exhausting! Haha at least I didn’t have to go back into work because I already spent all day on the road. But this job is really good, I like it a lot!!

new job

So i haven't really made any posts about my new job but it's pretty cool. the first day i was just whiting out dates and changing dates on the program we have planned for the summer. The 2nd day I was blowing up balloons to prepare for the place's grand opening. We're some kind of tutoring center that gets high school kids in the area into the top 25 universities in America. Harvard, Yale and all that type of stuff. It's one on one counseling/tutoring and college prep stuff and IT'S EXPENSIVE OMG. good thing i'm not paying for it and I just work here! I've kind of been shifted into a more IT type role out here the past couple days. I've been setting up computers and trying to set up the network. The router wasn't too hard to set up but I do maintenance on it and the like.

I haven't recovered yet from my sickness but I still think it's the Cali weather morning sickness/allergy thing I have going. It's been like this for years! If I wake up cold in the morning, i'll inevitably start sneezing and have a runny nose until it warms up. I do not have this problem in Hawaii, Hong Kong or anywhere tropical weather like. It kind of sucks having to use up so much tissue, but I think my 3 year plan is going to work out anyways.

Plan: get my degree in Biology/Chemistry and get my teaching credential so that I can be a high school teacher. preferable in Hawaii, emphasis Kahuku High. I really really hope that I can start school by this Fall so that I can actively work towards my degree. The other day I was talking to my best buddy, Pablo Gariando, about changing my major to Bio(he's a bio major and wants to get into med school) and he called out "BS" on my major change to Biology. hahaha I've always liked science since I was younger, but when I grew older I guess I just got lazy and didn't bother to learn too much more about it. The labs have always been interesting to me since they're all hands on and I had a really good high school Bio teacher. I remember I took a Bio class in college and I got an A- because I remembered everything from that Bio class from my freshman year in high school until I was a freshman in COLLEGE. I was talking to my older sister, Carol, about being a teacher and she said that science teachers are always needed, not history teachers. I remember hearing about that before which is why I made my decision to change my major since I've always liked science.

Mission Peak

lol this sucks, I thought I made this post 2 days ago when I actually finished walking the mountain with Justin. We decided to hike mission peak at around 3pm but ended up actually starting at 6pm. I had already finished swimming in the afternoon and doing some squat workouts and some more cardio at the gym. My legs were already tired before I started hiking but it was a good hike because I did take a lot of pics of the scenery.

this was the first bench/checkpoint. The sun was hitting all the smog or clouds but I couldn't get a better shot

Actually, this was the better shot but it looked a little dark to me.

baby rattlesnake!!! it was like the size of my palm but I didn't wanna risk getting TOO close

Me and Justin both found out that we had the exact same camelbak! His had a thermal covering for his water and his was blue while mine was green. LOL it was amazingggg how we both randomly had the SAME bag for water. We both wanted to turn back but I've never been to the top of Mission Peak and Justin wanted to take me there. We both encouraged each other so it was good that we made it!

we finally made it! a random asian guy with two hiking sticks helped us take the picture! *thank you random Chinese man!!

I got some pictures of the sunset but I didn't even realize that the sun was setting. Me and Justin were both just like "stupid sun, get outta the way!!" cuz it was super bright when I was trying to get some pictures of the clouds.

look AT THE GLARE!!

but it's a cool looking sunset. lol

these are the clouds I was trying to take a picture of. THERE'S THE ASIAN GUY WHO HELPED TAKE THE PICTURE!!

It was freezing at the top though, next time I go, i'm packing a blanket and some gloves if I wanna hang out at the top longer. my hands are getting chilly just thinking about it!! It got dark pretty quick but we took some shortcuts down so we cut off like 20-30 minutes from the hike down. I ran outta water near the end but it wasn't that bad since we were like 5 minutes from the bottom. I took a picture at the top of the mountain of the Bay Area all lit up.

Oh, so pretty!!  hahaha

The whole thing took about 3 hours up and down but I'll have to plan a little more time since my parents and a lot of other people wanted to also go up mission peak. I've never been but now I know the route so I'm a little more confident now. It was fun though, I'll definitely have to go up again.

Sunday=Mother's day

Yesterday was pretty awesome, it was mother's day so at church there was like a total of 19 people in the chapel. it was pretty deserted to be honest. The talks were pretty good because it was about missionary work and I actually paid attention and learned something. hahaha for once since I'm kind of complacent about listening at sacrament but I do need to put forth more of an effort and today, I DID! yay me!! Well, the other ward had chocolate covered strawberries that they were giving away to the mothers in the family ward and I decided to go ask them people if I could have some. I took two plates of strawberries and I gave one to Brittany Jorgenson and one to Maine. Brittany was calling me crazy and ridiculous until I handed a plate to her. LOL so silly, people are always afraid to ask for stuff and think it's like a social faux pas to ask. I saw that they had a ton leftover and all the moms already had a plate so THAT'S when I asked for the strawberries. It was entertaining.

After church I had lunch with Charmaine and we both decided the night before to cook dinner for my mom. We planned out steak, shrimp and spam and eggs for dinner. Maine pointed out that we didn't have any vegetables so we brought some napa cabbage to cook with the steak. I happened to chance upon a friend of the family who went out to a restaurant on Sunday /omg for mother's day. oh well. everyone has their agency right? anyways, it was really fun cooking everything and we got flowers for Mom and some of her favorite chocolate: Ferrero Rocher. Mom really liked everything and we even facetimed on Maine's iPad 2 with Carol and her kids. All in all, it was a pretty good day! yay!

community service and college

THis week i've been really busy with trying to figure out my education and getting my community service hours. About 3 months back, I got caught running a red light turning right and instead of paying the $480 fine, I was sentenced to 48 hours of community service. I've been procrastinating it for a while and I decided that since I wasn't working right now that I should get it done. I went back to the courthouse because I didn't have my copy of my community service form and I discovered that it was due by the 16th of this month. soooo, I went online and I found a food bank  in Oakland that I was going to volunteer at since they had Wednesday orientation, but then I found another food bank right here in Fremont and decided I didn't want to commute that far.

Anyways, my plan was to go to Oakland but since I wasn't going anymore, I decided to go to Hayward and check out CSU East Bay and follow up again with my transcripts and records. I found out that I could have started spring semester if I had submitted my "intent to register" except that I never got that form in the mail OR was it ever mentioned to me UNTIL this wednesday. It's too late to apply for Fall but since it wasn't my fault I tried to talk to someone that was higher up at admissions, but the lady said there "wasn't anyone" to talk to but I convinced her to at least send an email to someone that could at least attempt something to try and help me. I gave the college my google voice number so hopefully someone can help me and get me in for Fall so I can start school again. UGH. so ridiculous.

In other news, I got sick. Charmaine was sick and got me sick. lol

birthday dinner....round 2

Justin wanted to go out with me on my birthday for dinner, but on my actual birthday I was already eating with my parents so he scheduled me for Tuesday night. He ordered a present online from thinkgeek.com but it hadn't come in time for my birthday party on Saturday and he wanted to give it to me in person. Tuesday rolled around and we went to Chili's for dinner after realized that anywhere else we wanted to eat, Sushi Boat, Pho Appetit all closed too early. We invited a bunch of other people to come out too, Mansur, Beto, Tuan and Pablo just to hang out and catch up. There ended being one waiter who was serving the entire restaurant so in the span of about 90 minutes, we saw our waiter.....about 5 times total. It was kind of sad but that's how American restaurants are, no waiters and you can't even call them over for service. I'm still in the Chinese mentality of calling the waiter over but apparently American waiters get mad a lot and will spit in your food.

Oh! So the present that Justin got me were a pair of Luke Skywalker lightsaber chopsticks:

I kind of guessed lightsabers as the present he got me, but I had no idea that they would end up being a pair of chopsticks!! haha He also got me a swordbrella. It's an umbrella, fully functional, with a katana handle and an umbrella holder that I can sling over my shoulder. I'll put a picture of it up later, but it's awesome. You can't tell that it's an umbrella at all because of the handle and the way I can carry it but it's so USEFUL. I'm so glad Justin got me THE SWORDBRELLA because I've been needing an umbrella, I just never got around to it.

Oh, that's about it. more pictures tomorrow when I upload them onto here :)

UPDATE:
here are the pictures. of the....SWORDBRELLA

showing you the handle, SO FANCY!
see the umbrella parts by my left(your right) hand?

wielding the swordbrella of Truth and Might!!!

and it protects me from rain!! yay!!

Birthday dinner

Today I had work. ON MY BIRTHDAY!! BOOOO but I had a good day after work. I went for a workout and got pretty sweaty so that was good :) it's been awhile but I decided to use what Carol blogged about and change my mindset about running and applied it to working out. "I get to work out and take a break from working to go relieve some stress and build endorphins in my brain to make me happy". it worked out pretty well for me and it motivated me to keep working out :) Thanks Carol!

All of today, people kept writing on my facebook wall with "happy bday" or "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" and i decided to respond to them however they wrote me in the "attitude" i felt they were writing. so if someone said something really "bland" then i'd just be thx. lol it was kind of fun too. Tonight, I had dinner with my parents at a really good hole in the wall Chinese restaurant. It's by Ohlone and I really like the food there. Good portions and very flavorful without any MSG. Maine bought me a chocolate ice cream cake from Coldstone so we ate that and then Justin, Pete and Erica came over to wish me a great birthday ON my real birthday! such great friends!! BROTHERS FOR LIFE!! :)

Thursday is a special day

Today marks the official  ONE YEAR anniversary for Charmaine and I!! It feels like time has seriously flew from Hong Kong to now in my life in California. We've known each other for about 2 years but we made it official a year ago :D we went to eat at Market Broiler to celebrate and I saw "Hawaiian Poke" but the menu said to pronounce it "poh key" and the waitress kept calling it poh key when i called it "poke" the hawaiian way. It was pretty tasty and it looked all fancy but I'd much rather eat $10 a lb poke at the Kahuku Superette. Way cheaper and much much better.

The Clam chowder was really good too, I have had a ton of different clam chowders and I'd eat this more than once, EXCEPT for the price.  I really much preferred Skipper's clam chowder which I haven't had in a long time but it was still pretty good. The meal was a little over priced but it was still tasty. :)

catching up

so last night i went to sleep really early so i didn't make an entry. I decided I needed to catch up on my sleep so I went to bed at 10pm. I knocked out pretty much at 10 and I ended up waking up at 6am. I couldn't go back to sleep so I decided to wake up and work out. I started watching Hawaii 5-0 and stretching and doing some pushups and ab workouts. After the show ended, I decided to play League of Legends and we ended up winning really well. Me and my buddy usually are supposed to be hero killers but that game we ended up playing support and just getting assists. The other team ended up surrendering so I didn't play that much but I was playing Forsaken World for a bit and while I was doing that, I was also doing my taxes. I re did my taxes because they got rejected at first. And I did this all before 8am! LOL I felt pretty accomplished. I had an average day at work and just did some data entry.

Tonight I went grocery shopping with my parents cuz I had some money and we bought a bunch of groceries and snacks that my parents usually don't get because I was paying :D

FHE-topic

Sunday

Today I went to church in jeans. And a shirt and a tie. Some people asked me but I just didn't feel like wearing a suit today to church. There was some new girl at church that I hadn't met yet asked me my name, so I told her I was Gunther. Later on I tried to tell her my name was really Luke but then she got suspicious and didn't believe me and thought I was joking so she wasn't sure if my real name was Gunther or Luke, so I told her my name was Barry. So off.

Well, tonight I hung out with John, Pete, Tuan and Justin at Tuan's new apartment.
I took that picture with my iPhone right outside of Tuan's apartment and in the middle of the street. You can barely see it but the moon shining through the trees made it look really cool. I added a filter because there wans't enough light but it looks like a decent picture. I didn't mind the graininess of the photo because it was just taken from my phone. It was pretty fun hanging out at Tuan's studio. The kitchen is separated from the main room so it feels bigger than it really is, but we had some pizza and Justin brought some sandwiches from work so we could all have some food. We ended up watching Rush Hour 2 because none of us really wanted to spend the time to ponder the meaning of "A Scanner Darkly". It was pretty funny because Tuan borrowed the DVD from Justin and Justin thought he had lost that DVD forever ago but "what was once lost, was now found". /haha

saturdaaaaaaaaay

today was pretty awesome. got to chill and stuff with Tuan and Charmaine. We went to a korean BBQ place

and it was AMAZING. we had like 3 dishes of beef that we kept frying up and stuff and we ate for about an hour and then we went to Justin's place so that we could go catch a movie together.

Source Code

good movie. not going to ruin it but it's a good movie i'd recommend to everyone. it's pretty intense but in a good way. I'd definitely watch it again but maybe when it comes out on DVD......

Oct, 2005 MTC

I guess i'll jump back in time to when I first entered the Missionary Training Center (MTC) which was Oct 26, 2005. so almost 6 years ago, I started the rest of my life. But at the time, I didn't know that. I remember how weird it was to be surrounded by so many males and it was all so spiritual. I had never really been so immersed in such an environment and it was a great learning experience. I was there for 12 weeks, even though I understood Cantonese already, because I had to learn for myself what it meant to be a missionary. I recall that I was really frustrated because I wanted to leave early, at 6 weeks time, with the previous group of missionaries to Hong Kong because I felt that my Cantonese was strong enough to go. I finally learned to accept that it was a decision that was out of my hands and it wasn't a big deal because I was able to learn a lot more in the MTC than I would have been able to learn anywhere else. Spiritual wise, it was an awesome learning experience and I'm glad I had a ton of support behind me. It was interesting because I went through Halloween, Thanksgiving, Hanakkuh, Christmas AND New Years at the MTC. All major holidays but I guess it was fun, I joined the choir there so I could get a nap at night. I was always exhausted for some reason and I guess that's where my bad habit of falling asleep doing anything started. haha  I finally flew out and it was so weird being back in my birthplace. I had no recollection of Hong Kong except for 5 years prior when I went to my cousin's wedding and I had no idea what was going on when I was 14 and at 19 years of age.

Hmm, I"ll jump back in time more. lol I don't know why I keep going back and back but I never really kept a journal at all so this is my time to just record my thoughts. Before I got into the MTC, it took me almost 8 months just to get my mission call to Hong Kong. Salt Lake HQ kept losing paperwork or else it wasn't "exactly" what they wanted and because I was in California at the time, I had to call Hawaiian medical offices to get the right things faxed to me and it was really disheartening. Anywho, it obviously worked out because I went on my mission to Hong Kong.

my purpose for this blog

Well, I'm going to recap some important stuff that's happened in my life. A lot has happened in 3 and a half years since I finished my mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It feels like a lifetime ago that it started and ended. I'll recap from then in this blog but I'll sprinkle my daily (hopefully) posts so it's like a real journal. I just don't wanna lose my memories of what happened so I guess this is something I should really start. Thanks to my friend Rhiannon who got me started on blogspot. I was always just content reading but I needed a kick in the butt to start writing.

好吧, 晚安. and to all, a good night!!

just starting out

Well, I finally knuckled under and started a blog cuz I really need to keep a journal. I'm really not going to sit down and write out a journal so I'll keep it online and hopefully I'll be more diligent about just keeping a record of my life (for my posterity) /gg

Today, I started my new job as a Business development Rep today. It's my other new job after I was a sales guy door to door selling Meat: steak, chicken and seafood. I didn't really enjoy that job even though I was making decent money there because I felt like I was
misleading people a lot AND I was. I didn't like it at all. I was straight up lying to people to try to get them to just listen to me so I could sell something marked up just to put some cash in my pocket. Didn't feel right so I ended up working for about a week and a half and just quitting.

The good thing with this new job is that my friend Vanessa's husband is my boss. I'm going to get some good experience with this job and it'll look great with my
resume. I'm pretty excited to really start working on Monday. Today, I just did training where I read a bunch of PDF files and answered some quizzes. I flew through the quizzes and training cuz I read so fast so it wasn't even that hard. My new boss told me that it was going to take me awhile to get through the training but I did it way faster than he thought. Funny stuff.

After work today, since I got off work a bit early, I went home to relax before I headed over to Charmaine's so we could eat dinner. We figured out that if we rushed, we could make it to the showing of "Soul Surfer" but we didn't eat dinner until after the movie ended. OMG, I miss Hawaii so much even more than I did before. It was a pretty good movie, plus it was inspiring too. Makes me want to go out and catch some waves, oh wait, I can't because I don't live in Hawaii anymore -_______- It was pretty hilarious seeing some of my college friends on the big screen as extras and I couldn't stop cracking up for no reason. They were just part of the background Christian bible study group in the movie and it was just really cool seeing them.
